June at the Farm, Camellia's Thunder Bay

In spite of the constant rain, the Gardens here at the Farm are bursting into bloom. Here are some of the blooms I picked this morning, still dripping with the recent rains. Such an explosion of colour and fragrance!

Ferns, French Lilacs, Iris and Daylilies. Bliss to be able to gather a Bouquet from your own Farm.

Here at Opa Overmeer's Farm, we are catching up on all the unfinished projects. Like these white storage boxes, which we painted on the front with chalkboard paint. Boxes like these can be found at many a garage sale.

I grew up in the Caribbean with lots of birds, like this Kiskadee. Tropical birds are very colourful, this being so that they can fit in with all the colourful foilage and flowers.

So imagine my delight to see this yellow finch today, hanging out near a Birdfeeder on a twig arbour on the Farm.

Yes, the Lilacs are blooming. Such a lovely smell!

Bring that smell indoors with Farmhouse Goods Fresh white Lilac Laundry sachets, each sachet good for 5-6 loads in the dryer. Good for tucking into linen cupboards or drawers. $ 10.95 a set.

What Farm is complete without Chickens? These cushions are Hand- made, from Waverly Toile de Jouy fabric. These are in stock at Camellia's.

Keeping Chickens in your Backyard is very popular now. There are whole magazines on this topic.

A last note from the Farm today, a White wild Rose which seems to spread rapidly at the back of the store. So delicate, the blooms only last for a day, they have that fragrant rose smell, which is so lacking in commercially grown roses.
