Harvest at the Farm, Camellia's , Thunder Bay, On

Here at Opa Overmeer's Farm, we have been busy trying to harvest everything before the frost came. These are Hops which are used in Beer making.

Here's a close-up of the Hops - it's a time-consuming job to pull off all the blossoms. My intent is to make Sleep pillows with the Hops - they have been proven to help promote a deep sleep.

Friends of mine generously let me pick all the blossoms off their Hydrangea bush. You need a lot of blossoms to make a wreath.

I find it's best to use the Hydrangeas fresh, rather than waiting for them to dry. This way there is less breakage.

Here's my Golden - his help usually consists of grabbing the blossoms and racing off with them , hoping to get my attention.

Hydrangea blossoms and tamarack branches.

This wreath is a wonderful combination of red Hanging amaranthus which we grew, bamboo leaves and hydrangea blossoms.

Oh so pretty - the completed Hydrangea wreath!

Here's a close-up of the Hydrangea Wreath.
