It's Garden Thyme, The Camellia, Thunder Bay

It seems like just yesterday we were moaning about how un-springlike our weather was. The flowering trees were all late, and it seemed to just drag and drag. Well, we missed Spring and now we're right into Summer!! How did that happen? Was it this way where you live? Now it's time to Garden, and plant  all those planters.

Here's a smart idea for those pesky urns that lawn-mowing persons hate. Why didn't I think of this? I'm referring to the little circle around the planter with landscape fabric and rock. Not sure where to begin when potting? First, remove last year's dead plants, dig up soil and take out all old roots. Take some soil out of the planter, then add new soil and fertilizer ( a triple 17 is good ).

Now you can plant! Plan your colour scheme and look at the requirements for sun or shade on the plant tags. This planter is in the shade with some  afternoon sun. Split the plants apart and if the little plants are really rootbound, poke little holes in the rootball.

There you go .. it's not difficult.

I just love moss  - look at this shade of green - and the smell is very clean.
