In memory of loved ones, The Camellia, Thunder Bay, On

Today marks the anniversary of Opa Overmeer leaving us. He was a great, happy person who always had time to stop for a gab with you. While it's always hard to say that final Good-Bye, we have  to believe that our loved ones move onto a better place, free of pain and suffering.  We're heading out today to his grave to plant some flowers.

You may be wondering what flowers are good to plant at the Grave. Anything low-maintenance that can survive in dry conditions ( I usually plant the flowers, then I don't remember to stop by and water once it gets dry). Succulents, Portulaca, perennials such as Iris or Daylilies make a good choice. Always remember to till up the soil and add a bit of triple 20 fertilizer.

Pansies are so cheerful, and will reseed themselves readily, which means less planting next year.

Here are the Daylilies in the middle, with Annuals planted around the Daylilies.
A headstone is a fitting memorial for a loved one.  Visit http://www.elliotlakemonuments.net/ to see the different styles of Headstones we sell.

These are ceramic pictures which you can order, they are guaranteed for life against fading and breakage ( like a stone getting thrown up during grass cutting). They cost $300.00 plus, but are worth it.

Here is a Peony bush we moved from Opa Overmeer's farm, about to burst into bloom.

Hostas are a good choice, but only if there is some shade.
How do you remember your loved ones?
