Cold has its own smell, Happy October !

Fall is truly here now, all the trees are turning red, or yellow or brown. It's October, our air is nippy and cold these past few mornings. Socks are being dug out of drawers, and the hunt for warm jackets and hoodies begins. Next weekend is Thanksgiving. Where did our Summer go?
Did you know cold has its own smell?

The smell maybe comes from the decaying leaves, the wood fires burning, who knows, but cold definitely has its own smell. Crops are hastily brought in because of nightly frosts, hay stacked up for the Winter.

Green grass will soon be scarce, replaced by brown and grey.

Birds are flocking, eating worms, and berries, and hanging out by the bird feeders. Great big flocks of Canada geese are flying overhead, in their famous V-formation. Nightfall comes earlier now, and mornings are dark, making it difficult to get out of bed in the mornings.

How we will miss the Lake and its noisy ebb and flow.

And cold brings Snow . Here at The Camellia we are racing around trying to do everything that has to be done before the snow flies,
Happy October!
