A glorious Fall in Thunder Bay, The Camellia, Ontario

apple harvest Thunder Bay

It's almost September, and our nights have started to cool off, mornings are darker, and it gets dark by about 9pm. instead of the usual 10pm. It has been so hot and humid here that the cooler night time temperatures are almost welcome. It's been dry and our grass is starting to look dry and Fall-like. No-one really knows how this whole Summer flew by, like most of our summers seem to do in Northern Ontario. Our small Apple tree is laden with apples. How about your apple trees, are they filled with fruit?

Our leaves have not started to turn yet, but soon, our small maples will turn all shades of red.

Fall at The Camellia

The mountain nearby will be cloaked in shades of yellows and golds, and all shades in-between. Fall colours are rich and warm, one last burst of colour before the stillness and white of Winter descends. Fall is a great time to go for a Drive in the Country and go for a hike. stop by and visit us here at The Camellia, we are at 30/32 Hacquoil Rd. off Highway 61.

We have one grapevine behind the shop which is laden with bunches of grapes, which we use in floral designs. These grapes are really, really sour, Napa Valley we are not! However, the birds seem to love eating them!
